A visual archive of the first 20 years of Dazed & Confused, Making It Up As We Go Along captures the magazine at its most inventive, unruly, and influential. Founded in 1991 by Jefferson Hack and Rankin, Dazed grew from a London underground style magazine into one of the defining publications of contemporary fashion, art, music, and youth culture.
Bringing together photography, fashion editorials, artwork, interviews, and some of the magazine’s most memorable collaborations, the book revisits two decades of Dazed through the people who helped shape it.
 
Alexander McQueen, Damien Hirst, and Vivienne Westwood appear alongside Björk, Harmony Korine, Chloë Sevigny and Thom Yorke, with contributions from photographers, stylists, designers, artists, and musicians throughout.
