Published in 2004, Venom offers a focused and intimate look into the practice of Hajime Sorayama, bringing together his imagery, ideas, and working methods in a single volume. The book combines newly produced artwork (at the time of release) and is paired with Sorayama’s conceptual notes and written reflections. Venom is the first book to document his production process from early sketches through to completed illustrations. The final section features personal journal entries spanning two years, along with lists of books, films, and music that influenced his work.
This first edition is housed in a cardboard slipcase, with the book itself bound in an amazing faux snakeskin-textured cover.
