Films - William Klein

William Klein Films (Marval, 1998) is the first edition monograph dedicated to the bold and subversive filmmaking of William Klein, whose raw, irreverent approach to both photography and cinema helped redefine visual culture in the 20th century. Featuring numerous colour and black-and-white stills, this French-language volume explores Klein’s most iconic works for the screen, from his electric debut Broadway by Light (1958) to his politically charged satire Mr. Freedom (1968) and the cult favourite Qui êtes-vous Polly Maggoo? (1966). Also included are stills and commentary on Muhammad Ali: The Greatest (1974), The Little Richard Story (1980), and more, accompanied by a critical essay from film writer Claire Clouzot and an interview with Klein himself. Printed in France and long out of print, this first edition has become increasingly rare and sought after, an essential title for collectors of cinema, photography, and radical visual art.
